The Indigenous Long-Term Participant Development Pathway workshop is designed to help sport and physical activity organizations across Canada enhance their understanding about how to support Indigenous participants and athletes in their programming.

Physical Literacy 101: An Introduction to Physical Literacy

The goal of the Physical Literacy 101 Workshop is to cover a broad introduction to the concept of physical literacy.

Physical Literacy 201: Physical Literacy Assessment for Youth

This workshop will provide participants with the ability to execute, score and interpret the physical literacy assessment for youth (PLAY) tools in a sport specific setting.

Physical Literacy 501: Inclusive Physical Literacy

PL 501 will help participants to understand the importance of physical literacy development for participants with disabilities. This workshop will take participants through what universally accessible programs are and how to plan and create them. It will also help participants to develop their adaptations to fundamental movement skills to allow for different disability types to participate and have a quality first involvement experience.

Physical Literacy for Early Childhood Educators

Provide early year’s staff (senior front-line ECE staff, supervisors and managers) an increased understanding of physical literacy development in young children (0 to 6 years).

Physical Literacy for Older Adults

Provide leaders who work with older adults (55+) with an increased understanding of physical literacy development.

Physical Literacy Movement Preparation Coach Workshop

Physical Literacy Movement Preparation is an enhanced training program performed as a warm up before practices and games to enhance performance and durability.

Complete 2 eLearning courses, (45-75 min each) followed by a 3 hour classroom workshop.

Quality Physical Literacy Experiences Workshop & Online Evaluation

By the end of the workshop participants will be able to integrate concepts from the previous three courses to create a physical literacy enriched environment for program participants. Upon completion of the workshop, and with proof of completing the pre-requisites, participants will be provided with an activation key to take the final summative assessment to complete the Physical Literacy Instructor Program.
